Many passers by asked us “What tree is this?”, to which we answered “It’s a jackfruit tree”. Many a times, one has to wait to see the fruit to realize what seed was sown. In case of organizations, startups, or people from all walks of life – it’s a blind journey if one has to wait to see the fruit appear which in turn reflects what seed was sown. Let’s relate it to input (seed) and output (fruit). The world will always need only those people who are conscious and aware of what they are sowing now, what have they sown already, how much do they water the tree, what fruits will they bear etc.
Coming back to the main purpose of the blog. It was around 10 years back, when my parents returned after a trip to Kerala. Along with her, my mother she got a jackfruit for us, which we savored beyond the legal rights if any.
And it was just 2 seeds that she planted in an inch of mud, hoping for it to grow into a tree. It sprouted, broke the power of earth, surfaced on top as a tiny sapling; and 10 years later on Saturday the 30th of May 2015 we plucked a few jackfruits. The hunt for a man who could climb our lean and slim tree last for almost 2 months. Here are a few of his dare-devil acts.
Mom cooked it for us today, one of her debut acts from the recent times. The joys known to a Keralite family of growing a Jackfruit tree & enjoying the fruit would be beyond ecstasy itself.
